Weller C.Y.P.B was first announced in 2015 by the Buffalo Trace Distillery. They asked the bourbon drinkers to "Craft Your Perfect Bourbon". The fans selected their ideal bourbon recipe, proof, warehouse location and age on a dedicated website which you can click and play on.

They received over 100000 entries in two years and created this bottle at 95 proof, 8 year old with a high wheat mash bill and aged on the top floor of the warehouse. Currently the number of entries is well over 300000!

As I discussed on my Weller Full Proof article, the current price in the market which is around $600-$750 for this bottle simply is not worth. However, its suggested retail price at $40 is just amazing.

Let's stop talking about the hype and discuss the whiskey. Actually we are not going to stop discussing hype as the expectations are really high for this whiskey every year. Personally, I didn't enjoy it as much as Weller Full Proof, Weller 12 or Weller Antique 107. I found the nose to be sweet as expected but heated. The balance I really enjoy in above mentioned whiskies is not found in Weller C.Y.P.B

I found the texture on the thinner side with a simple spicy finish. At its MSRP rate, it is a good whisky but nowhere close to Weller Full Proof. But you know, palates can differ and enjoying whiskey is pretty much personal. I found Weller C.Y.P.B a solid whiskey considering the quality and making. However its taste is just not for me.
