Nose: Lots of cherry, more cherry, menthol, maize, caramel.
Palate: Cherry forward, nutty, sweeter than expected, porridge and creamy
Finish: Short, cherry, cinnamon, oak and vanilla
I have never been a fan of flavored whiskey. Also I am not into red fruit flavored spirits. I find them intense, overshadowing every taste bud I have.
However, after learning Traverse City is actually infusing Montmorency cherries in their new make for around 2 weeks, I wanted to give it a try.
Nose was exactly what I had in my mind, but palate had lovely nuttier and creamy tones I enjoyed. It actually gave me pleasure. Finish is short and full of cinnamon and cherry.
This bottle has definitely its own client base and I will be rating it unbiased.
