Scotch Malt Whisky Society is famous for neatly created bottles and names. I tasted SMWS 50.39 “Scrumptious Cockles” which is a single malt from Bladnoch Distillery.
SMWS 50.39 was filled in just 289 bottles from an ex-bourbon hogshead barrel and aged for 16 years by SMWS.
It first felt like a perfumed candy, just as you are in the middle of a confectionery store. Then lemon, citrus, grainy profile hit me with spices. It is a lively whisky, like a bipolar sibling to SMWS 29.157
Try it with drops of water and live this great dram.
