This SMWS 29.157 from Laphroaig was my last whisky of my trip to Amsterdam. Though it tells Heidi's Holiday To Islay, possibly to Laphroaig. Actually, the name was one of the main reasons that made me order this one.
I literally felt fire in my mouth with every detail of it. Pepperiness, burn, searing, smoke and ash. It was a total experience. Despite peat and alcohol I was expecting, I was amazed with ash aroma.
With all other flavors and palate structure of this dram I am not afraid to call SMWS 29.157 a complex and spectacular whisky.
Wish there was still some out there as it also got harder and harder to find Laphroaig bottles from Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
