Nose: Proof is not lying here. You feel the heat and it is dominant. After the heat dissolves, cardamom, sandal wood, figs, dark honey, allspice, chocolate creates a strong blend.

Palate:Plums, carob, cinnamon bark, ginger dryness with toasted oak. In time cherries and caramel fudge appear in the back.

Finish: Hot, long with black peppers, blackberries, tea tannins, cedar wood.

Roaming Man Batch 8 is the second bottle I tried from them. You can find my first review of them, Batch 3 on this link.

Batch 3 was 2 years and 5 months old with a slightly lower abv. Batch 8 is 3 years 2 months old at a level of 123 proof (61.5% abv) and honestly this shows itself in the whiskey.

I will just skip to the point. This rye is hot and bold. There are some appealing dark aromas that you'll get interested and some strong spicy aromas that might put you off a little bit.

Good news is 123 proof is actually helping you discover new flavors every other sip. This is surely a step up from Batch 3 and I am so sorry to miss the batches in between.

In a few days we will be seeing Batch 9 in the stores and I already had the chance to taste and review.
