Petrus Dubbel Bruin

Country: Belgium
Brewery: De Brabandere
Style: Abbey Dubbel
ABV: 6.5%
Serving Temperature:
8-12C/45-54F
Glass: Snifter – Goblet

Color: Dark ruby
Nose: Caramel, molasses, malty
Palate: Sweeter tones are dominant with yeast, Demerara sugar
Finish: Medium long finish with toasted oak, grain and spices

A Belgian to be sipped by fall. Petrus Dubbel Bruin is a nice example of an Abbey Dubbel but I found it quite sweet on the palate.

Surely there is a barleywine character on the nose and the palate. This top fermented beer gives out a dark profile.

Though finish is where the beer excels for me in itself. Grainy finish with spices and toasted oak is joyful and in harmony with the length.

Good thing is, you can find this beer year round around $5.
