Paul John Single Malt releases whiskies with no age statements on them, but they have always been transparent with their production. This whiskey spends around 5 years or more in 1st fill ex-Bourbon barrels and 2 years in 1st fill Oloroso casks from a Bodega in Andalucia, Spain. The Oloroso casks in question are converted to hogsheads from an incredibly old Butt which transfers a lot of layers into the spirit. So we can say that we are having a 7 year old whisky here. Plus it is matured in beautiful Goa with 8-10% angel’s share!
Incredible rich nose is greeting you with fruits, orange notes, floral touch and darker flavors like walnuts and Demerara. Palate has a lot to offer but for some it can be a little bit hot. Spice hotness is followed by a creamy texture, chocolate notes and dark fruits. Finish is long, lingering and really pleasing.
