Bonhams Hong Kong is about to make a great auction by putting all set of Karuizawa Geisha Series under hammer. The distillery was mothballed in 2000 and closed in 2011. Therefore any whisky distilled by this distillery is sold in big numbers.
The auction will be consisting of a huge collection of Japanese and Scotch whiskies. Though Geisha Series will be consisting of 27 bottles distilled in 60’s, 70’s, 80′ and 90’s. The age range starts from 20’s to 50’s. Bonhams Whisky Specialis Daniel Liam states that he is very excited to put this series in auction for the first time ever.
Geisha Series is estimated to cost the bidder around 1m-1.3m Hong Kong Dollars which is around 100k Sterlings. To compare, 29 bottles set of The Macallan from 1958-1986 was sold almost at the half prices in the former years.
