Compass Box Myths & Legends II is the second whisky from the Myths and Legends Limited Edition Series. It is another single malt from the Scotch whiskymaker. This time, the emphasis is on one of the undervalued distilleries, Glen Elgin!
Leading whiskymakers Jill Boyd and James Saxon brought six different barrels together and created an incredible whisky for us.
The nose instantly offers you a great amount of tropical fruits and stone fruits. It reminds you of Speyside in an elegant way. If you like Glenmorangie 18 Year Old, Compass Box Myths & Legends II has similar aromas on the nose, with a darker style.
Palate has a waxy, creamy character with apples, white pepper and savory notes. Banana, chamomile, skinned almonds joins typical dusty and chalky notes from that I was expecting from Glen Elgin.
Finish is long and lingering with oak spices, tropical fruits, apricots with vegetal dryness.

With 4446 bottles in the market Compass Box Myths & Legends II is one of the must buys from the brand. The nose, the balance, texture and finish are superbly done and I do enjoy this whisky every single time!
Compass Box Myths & Legends I is also at a very close rating for me. But I enjoyed Glen Elgin so much that it is very hard for me not to finish this bottle yet.
