Ardbeg Still Young

Country: Scotland – Islay
Distillery: Ardbeg
Type: Single Malt
Age: 8
Cask: Bourbon
ABV: 56.2%
Proof: 112.4

Nose: Toffee, white chocolate, lemon peel and very direct peaty character.
Palate: Exactly younger feeling when compared to Ardbeg 10. Strong, spicy and has a big amount of phenols.
Finish: Medium length. Peat is dominant and combines with intense wood spice with forest fruits.

From  'the Journey to Ardbeg 10', there comes Ardbeg Still Young. Islay distillery wanted to reflect the age impact on their whisky with three expressions, respectively 'Very Young'(6 yo), 'Still Young'(8 yo), 'Almost There'(9 yo). This journey ended with their flagship 10 year old.

Since it is named as the journey to the legendary 10 year old, tasting the whisky and comparing with the other bottles in the range is really fun. I can say that liked this whisky, especially the intense white chocolate feeling on the nose was smile making.

Years later, they came out with a 5 year old single malt! I was so excited to see if it was a reminiscence of this series, so I checked the Wee Beastie.
